Multi Satellite Setup - DiSEqC (FOXSAT-HD Only)
What is DiSEqC?
Digital Satellite Equipment Control, often thought of as a Eutelsat system it was actually STAB Italia www.stab-italia.com that designed the protocol for DiSEqC and have further developed it with USALS.
NOTE: The default password is 0000.

The Humax FOXSAT-HD receiver performs just like a fta receiver, you can select the satellites,select the port(s) for the satellite(s),and scan. Make sure the satellite receiver is connected to the various LNBs and satellite dishes , then turn on the device. The first installation will operate automatically.

A Freesat Installation is required before the other satellites can be setup and configured.
Accessing the DiSEqC Menus, is via a secret menu, by pressing the colour buttons in the following sequence:
RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE

User Settings
User Settings allows you to set the language, screen ratio, display format and resolution.
Select a language option from Preferred Language (English Gaelic or Welsh), Picture Format and Resolution.
Select Next and press the OK button.
NOTE:
If the product is connected to the TV using an HDMI cable, Original will not be displayed.
 
 
 

Freesat Detection
A Freesat Installation is required before the other satellites can be setup via the Secret Menu under Manual Tune.
1.Confirm the antenna cable is connected and press the OK button to find Freesat.
2. Wait until Freesat detection is complete.
3. When Freesat is detected, press the OK button to go to the next step.
If Freesat is not detected, check your satellite antenna cable connection and that your satellite dish is aligned to the Astra 2 group of satellites copositioned at 28.2° east.
NOTE:
Always turn the receiver off at the mains before checking the antenna cable and connection, failure to do so could result in permenent damage to your receiver and Electric Shock.
The receiver is now searching for Freesat. This should take no more than two minutes. If no signal is detected, check your dish and cables.

The receiver has automatically detected Freesat on DiSEqC port C. This is the user defined port, it can be any of the other ports A, B or D.


Postcode
Enter your full postcode (including a space) using the NUMERIC(0-9) button on the remote control.
To use on-screen keyboard, press the OPT+ button. Press the 1 button to enter a space.
NOTE: You must enter your entire postcode including the space.
You can always change the desired postcode in the Freesat intallation menu by changing the post code. You must rescan in Freesat mode and then save for the changes to take affect.
There are hundreds of postcodes in the UK, to change region type in one of the following:

Search Channels
Search Channels will activate and the results will appear. To stop the channel search, select Stop and press the OK button. Select Save and press the OK button to go to the next step.
This search only saves channels currently available through the Freesat Electronic Programme Guide (EPG).
To add other channels, you must do a Manual Tune.

Save the results, this will be complete when the blue saving bar reaches 100%.
The installation will then continue to the final completion page.

Listed on the Result page are your prefered language, Picture Format, Postcose & channels found. Press Finish to complete the Freesat Installation.

Go to Setup and go to Manual Tune, then press RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE
on your remote.

Choose Antenna Settings, allowing you to setup the non-Freesat satellite dishes and the DiSEqC ports.
The Freesat port is already setup.

First choose your Antenna type, Fixed, SCD (Single Cable Distribution), Motorised or SMATV
Antenna Types Explained
SCD
Single Cable Distribution (SCD), allows multiple boxes/tuners to run from one output from a (SCD-compatible) LNB.
SMATV
SMATV stands for Satellite Master Antenna Television, and refers to a system that uses multiple satellite and broadcast signals to create a single integrated cable signal for distribution to a cabling network.

Next go to Satellite Settings, Freesat is already installed, this was detected under Freesat detection.
There are three unused DiSEqC ports.

Under satellite choose the desired satellite. Freesat is already installed, in the case of this installation on DiSEqC input C.

The Astra 1 position has been chosen. Note that the signal strength and quality are showing. Astra 1 and Astra 2 use some of the same frequencies.

Choose the correct DiSEqC input for the chosen satellite.
This is user defined.

Go to LNB power, this gives you the option to set the LNB power to 'High'.
This option is only for cable over 60m

Astra 1 is now setup, save your setting and then install any other satellite positions.

Installing another satellite, Hotbird at 13° east.

Hotbird has been setup on DiSEqC input B.

Hotbird is now installed, save your setting and press backup.

Go to Manual Tune.

Choose the satellite.

All installed satellite are displayed.

Choose Scrambled Type, FTA or All.
Choose Channel Type, All, TV or Radio.

All the selected channel frequencies and channel types will be scanned. Unwanted channels can be deleted.

Once the scan is complete, you will be prompted to save the results. Save and press back to return to the menu.

A single transpnder can be selected for scan.

Frequency, scrabled and channel type are now selected, press Search.

All the TV and Radio channels are displayed.
