ITV Player on Freesat
ITV Player is available on Freesat channel 903 for customers on selected receivers.
ITV Player on Freesat is only available to viewers in England, Wales and some Scottish Border areas. This is because ITV is only available to viewers in those regions and we need to ensure that ITV do not breach any broadcasting rights restrictions. If you do not have access to ITV Player, change your postcode to any English or Welsh one, then do a Freesat tune.
Advertising is important to ITV as it allows them to show all their programmes for free. You cannot fast forward through an ad break and if you attempt to skip past an ad break, you will still see the adverts you have skipped. However once they have finished, play will resume at the point in the programme that you skipped to, rather than the point after the adverts.
If you skip multiple ad breaks, you will only be required to watch one set of adverts.
ITV do not have the catch-up rights to all programmes, so unfortunately some shows (mainly US imports), may not be available to watch on ITV Player on Freesat.
All Video On Demand (VOD) content on ITV Player is restricted to UK only IP addresses.

What you need
1. ITV Player compatible Freesat receiver.
2. To use ITV Player you will need to connect your Freesat receiver to a broadband internet connection. Playback quality will be dependant on the quality and speed of your broadband connection: ITV recommend viewers have at least 2Mbps broadband to use ITV Player. ITV Player streams programmes to your Freesat receiver at 800kbps in standard definition, HD content is not currently available on ITV Player.
Consult your user manual for more information about connecting your particular Freesat receiver to the internet.
You can check your actual broadband speed at www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk.
3. The most reliable way to connect is with an Ethernet cable. These are best suited if your broadband router is situated near to your freesat box or freesat TV.
See: How to connect with an Ethernet cable.
Or a Homeplug Adapter, these enable you to connect wirelessly, for example if your broadband router is in a different room to your freesat box or freesat TV.
Overseas viewers, please see Using a VPN with Freesat.

Parental Guidance
Where parental guidance may be required, ITV identify programmes that may contain inappropriate material for some audiences with a ‘G’ symbol.
When you select to play one of these programmes, you will first be provided with details of the guidance warning and be required to confirm that you wish to continue before playback can begin.
