Upgrading your Sky+HD receiver is not officially supported or approved by Sky, Pace Micro, Amstrad or Thomson.
You perform the upgrade entirely at you own risk and are responsible for any damage caused to yourself or your Sky+HD receiver while following the upgrade procedure. |
The harddrive upgrade procedure varies from model and manufacturer. There are already a number of well written and illustrated guides to the various models, so there is no reason to write a whole collection of new ones.
Note: The hard drive inside Sky+HD is formated in XTVFS format, format the new drive with Copy+.

| Copy+ Copy+ is a powerful freeware program that allows you to backup and transfer your Sky+ and Sky HD hard drives. The only product on the market that can do this, Copy+ can also copy between previously incompatible box models and will work around Sky limitations on maximum hard disk sizes. Now you can take your box to 1TB. |
| +Extract This Windows application will allow you to extract recordings from your Sky+ Sky HD system. However, it will not decrypt recordings so in reality its only useful if you intend to extract free-to-air (FTA) recordings. |
