The harddrive upgrade procedure varies from model and manufacturer. There are already a number of well written and illustrated guides to the various models, so there is no reason to write a whole collection of new ones.
Note: The hard drive inside Sky+HD is formated in XTVFS format, format the new drive with Copy+.

| Copy+ Copy+ is a powerful freeware program that allows you to backup and transfer your Sky+ and Sky HD hard drives. The only product on the market that can do this, Copy+ can also copy between previously incompatible box models and will work around Sky limitations on maximum hard disk sizes. Now you can take your box to 1TB. |
| +Extract This Windows application will allow you to extract recordings from your Sky+ Sky HD system. However, it will not decrypt recordings so in reality its only useful if you intend to extract free-to-air (FTA) recordings. |
