The SES Astra 2D footprint only showns dish sizes for a very limited area. This is a very conservative map, Astra 2D has been picked up as far south as the Canary Islands and Cyprus.
Large dishes are required for large areas of mainland Europe.
In fringe reception areas (outside the official footprin), reception can be unreliable, always use the best equipment to maximise the signals from Astra 2D.
Receiver: Use a receiver with the lowest possible threshold, this varies greatly depending on receiver.
The Freesat FOXSAT-HDR works very well with weak signals.
Dish: Always a good quality dish, larger the dish, the more signal that can be collected.
LNB: Use a good quality LNB, do not be mislead by claims of very low noise figures.
Cable: Use high quality cable.
This is not an offical map, it is based on reception reports from around Europe. It is not a guarentee of reception in your area.
